The Country Club of Darien
The Country Club of Darien is located in the Long Island Sound shoreline town of Darien, Connecticut, approximately 45 miles north of New York City. The Al Tull design golf course was opened with nine holes in 1957, and full eighteen holes opened in the spring of 1958. While true to its original structure, the current course was virtually re-built and modernized during a three year project ending in early 2010 by renowned golf course architect, Dr. Michael Hurdzan. His work at The Country Club of Darien was given the Renovation of the Year Award (for a renovation of over $4 million) in 2010 by Golf Inc. magazine and is now acknowledged as one of the finest courses in the country. Dr. Hurdzan received the prestigious Old Tom Morris Award at 2013 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America show, its highest honor.
White Oak Room
A new restaurant, the White Oak Room, was opened to the Membership in August of 2016. It was named for the stately White Oak Tree near holes 15 and 16. Part of a $5.6 million Clubhouse renovation, this new restaurant showcases the best views of our golf course. Overlooking the 18th green and our short game practice facility, the room features a beautiful stone veranda and two sets of unique glass doors that allow for the room to be completely opened to the outside during the summer months. A stone fire pit on the veranda is lit year round, and has become a favorite place to enjoy a cocktail year round, even in the colder winter months. The Lounge, painted a glossy navy blue, is elegant and laid back at the same time. The comfortable banquettes and gold detail in the furniture in features have made it a favorite “drop in” spot for our Membership for before and after dinner cocktails.
The Lounge
The Wine Room was another addition to the Clubhouse in 2016. This gorgeous room, with its deep wood tones and handcrafted racks, holds about 2,700 bottles of wine and can seat up to 14 guests. Used for weekly Thursday night tastings and intimate dinner parties, this room has become the place to be seen for our Members and their guests.

As part of the Clubhouse renovation, a new, expanded patio was added off of the Pub, also featuring a lounge area with a fire pit. The existing Terrace area was completely redone and the addition of glass Nana doors allow for year round use in total comfort and gorgeous views of the 15th tee.
