 PRESENTERS

Maria Rapp is an associate in the firm's Labor & Employment Department and provides preventative counselling and labor and employment advice to employers.  She represents businesses and governmental entities in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.  She litigates a wide range of employment law claims including allegations of discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour violations. Maria is experienced in complex class action employment litigation matters.

Prior to joining Pullman, Maria's experience included working for a national employment law firm and working for a general practice firm in New York City where in addition to labor and employment law, she represented businesses in commercial litigation, residential real estate and lender representation.  She also has experience in commercial litigation, property issues, landlord/tenant disputes and personal injury matters.

Ryan O'Donnell focuses his legal practice on the representation of management in labor and employment matters. Counsel to both the Connecticut Restaurant Association and the Connecticut Lodging Association, Ryan specializes in issues unique to the restaurant and hospitality industries and routinely works with restaurants to ensure they remain compliant with an array of legal challenges distinct to the restaurant industry, including wage and hour issues and discrimination/Title VII claims. Ryan serves as chair of the firm's Hospitality practice group.

Ryan has handled national labor matters and advised both private employers and public entities in issues impacting the employment relationship in unionized and nonunionized workforces. Ryan frequently represents and counsels employers in union avoidance and union decertification campaigns, contract negotiations and unfair labor practice charges. On behalf of his clients, he appears before state and federal agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor.
